ST. OLAF: Funeral services for Thomas O. Knudson were held Friday afternoon at 1:30 in the home and 2:00 at the Norway Lutheran church with the Rev. S. J. Strandjord officiating. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
Pall bearers were Fed Orvis, Elmer Wilke, Alvin Larson, Roy Engelhardt, and Harvey Busch
Thomas O. Knudson, one of ten children of Ole and Thore Knudson, was born in Wagner township on what is now known as the Art Knuth farm Oct. 06, 1856, and died Feb. 06, 1945, at the age of 88 years and four months.
On April 26, 1886, he was married to Hannah Christenson. They celebrated their golden wedding in 1936 and would have been married 59 years this spring had he lived.
Two children were born to them, Hanford, who died in 1926, and Alfed.
His whole life was spent in this community with the exception of a short time spent in Minnesota and the Dakotas. For many years he was engaged in business in St. Olaf, where he lived until his death.
Survivors are his wife, Hannah; one son Alfred; five grandchildren, Dorothy (Mrs. Robert Corlett), Helen (Mrs. Vernon Diers), Marjorie Knudson, Norma Knudson and Pvt. Clyde A. Knudson, somewhere in the Pacific; three great-grandchildren, Susan and Gale Corlett and Thomas Diers; one brother Albert of Hettinger, N.D., and a sister, Susanna Knudson of Decorah.
