Rudolph Dohrer died at his home in St. Paul, Minn., Monday. Funeral services were held yesterday at 2 o'clock from the Fred Wistrick home here to the Friedens Evangelical church at 2:30, the Rev. Kitterer officiating. Burial was made in the East Side cemetery.

Funeral services for Rudolph Fredrick Dohrer, 67, who died at his home in St. Paul, Minn., Monday, Nov. 27, were held at the Willwerscheid Mortuary in St. Paul, Minn., Tuesday afternoon Nov. 28th. The body was then brought to Elkader where services were held at the home of his sister, Mrs. Fred Wistrick, at 2 p.m. Wednesday and from Friedens Evangelical church at 2:30 o'clock, the Rev. Paul Kitterer officiating. Burial was made in the East Side cemetery.
Mr. Dohrer, son of John A. and Mary Fredericka Dohrer, was born December 16, 1876, in Cox Creek township. He grew to manhood in this community and at the age of 21 took up railroading. He worked for the Great Western out of Oelwein for five years. Then moved to St. Paul where he worked for the Great Northern railroad, with which he has been for 41 years. He was active until he met with an auto accident on his return from Elkader August 03, 1944, following which he was paralyzed and confined to his bed.
May 27, 1931 he was married at St. Paul to Mabel A. Gardner who survives him.
Mr. Dohrer was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and of the Great Northern Railway Veterans association. He was a member of the Friedens Evangelical and Reformed church of Elkader.
Surviving besides his widow are one sister, Mrs. Fred Wistrick, and one brother, August A. Dohrer, both of Elkader. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Henry Dohrer.
Pallbearers were: John Dohrer, Clifford Nelson, Don Knutson, Harold Dohrer, L. D. Dittmer and Julius Mentzel.
