JAMES MITCHELL
Funeral services for James W. Mitchell, 81, were held Tuesday afternoon at the Pilkington funeral parlors. Rev. E. G. Steinman, pastor of the Methodist church, conducted the services and burial was made in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
The son of William and Susan Mitchell, he was born April 4, 1868, at Wyalusing, Wis., and passed away at his home here Saturday, February 26th.
On May 31, 1893, he was married to Mary Robbins at Millville, Wis., and seven children were born to this union. Mrs. Mitchell passed away in 1939, and a year later he was married to Mrs. Edna Adney of McGregor.
He has lived here most of his life, being employed by the Milwaukee Ry. for 52 years. He retired in 1937.
Survivors are his widow, three sons, Harry of Manchester, Laverne of Rockford, Ill., and James of Marquette; three daughters, Mrs. Lou Brechler and Mars. Art Wilkinson of Marquette and Mrs. Earl Luster of Harpers Ferry and 17 grandchildren.
Casket bearers were his sons and sons-in-law.

Mitchell were: Mr. and Mrs. Laverne Mitchell of Rockford, Ill., Harry Mitchell and son Merlin and Robert Robbins of Manchester, Mrs. Clara Lange of Elkader, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Foster and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Arris of Boscobel, Mrs. Emma Galer, son Michael and daughter Elinor of Mederville.
