Lawrence W. McKellar, son of Peter and Samantha McKellar, was born in Highland township, Clayton county, May 03, 1867, and died at his home in Highland, April 09, 1944.

He grew to manhood on his father's farm and attended the public school of the district.

March 31, 1898, he was marred to Nellie Klingman. They were the parents of two children, Glen D. and Ruth, the latter dying in infancy.

Survivors are his widow and son, Glen D. of Minneapolis, Minn., and one brother, John D. McKellar of Chicago.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday by the Rev. J. C. Warton at the Illyria church and burial was made in the Illyria cemetery. Casket bearers were Arthur Yearous, Thos. Pollock, Harold Glass, Myron Chapman, Delbert Chapman and Walter Medberry. Music was furnished by the Schaffer quartet and Harold Strong.
