Bert W. Talcott, 71, died at his home Saturday afternoon after suffering a stroke about six weeks previous. He was the son of Horace and Elizabeth Talcott, born July 15, 1872, in Fayette county. April 17, 1918, he was married to Hanna Niederfrank. They have lived here since, Mr. Talcott being in the mercantile business for more than 20 years, and he also did some carpenter work. He was a member of the Methodist church, serving as treasurer for 30 years.
Survivors include the widow, a son Horace of Chicago, and a brother Fred of Lamont. A twin sister, Mrs. Mertie Dexter, and an infant son, Bert, preceded him in death.
Rev. R. Park Anderson conducted the funeral services Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist church. Music was furnished by a male quartet, R. S, Runyon, Dr. R. W. Dutton, Paul Lindemeyer and Donald Gundacker, with Mrs. Lloyd Kramer accompanying. Casket bearers were George Dunfrund, Will Knight, Earl Stoner, Ernest Eppler, George Tucker, and Herman Ackman. Burial was in Strawberry Point cemetery.
