VOLGA: Burial services were held Friday afternoon at Hill Crest cemetery for William Jones, who died Monday at Garber and where funeral services were held Friday before bringing the body here for burial.
Mr. Jones and his family resided in this community a number of years ago where he assisted his father, the late Abe Jones, in well digging work.
Surviving are several children and grandchildren and other relatives.
He was buried beside his father and mother in the family lot.

William Harrison Jones, only son of Abe and Hattie Jones, was born near Edgewood on January 05, 1881, and died at Elkader January 04, 1944, of a heart ailment.
February 18, 1903, he was united in marriage to Gertrude Phelps at Littleport. To this union ten children were born.
Survivors include his widow and children, Bertie and Sidney of Elkport, Abe of Edgewood, Lloyd and Mrs. Mertie Krouser of Winona, Minn., Mrs. Hattie Phelps and Mrs. Goldie Harbaugh of Osterdock, Dale of Greeley, Don of Garber, and Mrs. Alberta Funk of Clayton; also a sister of McGregor and 25 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 07 at St. John's church at Garber and burial was at Volga City. Services were in charge of the Rev. John Gaterman.
Pallbearers were: Bert Beatty, Wilbur Hyde, John Thein, Jae Thein, John Amling and Ralph Oldham.
