This is the best I can do for you Oliver, otherwise have no other ideas. I searched for George & Robert Stearns born in England, in Ohio census records (Ancestry.com). The results may be promising for you. Good luck!

parents both born in England
farmer
Also in household are Malissa Mansfield, 62, born Connecticut; Margaret Stearns, 32, born Ohio; Mary Stearns, 5, born Ohio

1880 U.S. Census - the family is still in Geauga county, OH
George, Margaret, Mary - and 2 add'l kids: Fred, 7 & Ada, 4
Melissa is still living, identified as George's MIL

____

ROBERT
1870 U.S. Census, Auburn, Geauga co., OH
age 31
born 1839 in England
parents both born in England
farmer
Also in household are Lovina Stearns, 35, born OH; Martha Stearns, 10, born Ohio; Edmund Stearns, 9, born Ohio; Mina M., 5, born Ohio

1880 U.S. Census - the family is still in Auburn, Geauga, OH; no add'l kids

There is also a George Stearns, age 2-3, died 1866 in that cemetery. Possibly a son of Robert or George.
