Schmidt - Sutton Marriage - 1953

SCHMIDT, SUTTON, MARTIN, HULTGREN

At St. Paul's Evangelical church in Garnavillo Miss Katherine Sutton, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Sutton of Garnavillo, became the bride of Herbert Schmidt of Waterville. The Rev. L. C. Urlaub officiated. Jeanette Sutton, sister of the bride, acted as maid of honor, and Mrs. Francis Martin, of Cedar Rapids, sister of the groom, also attended the bride. Carroll Hultgren, cousin of the groom, served the groom, and William Sutton, brother of the bride, also attended the groom.

The bride is a graduate of the Garnavillo high school and the University of Dubuque, and has been teaching in the McGregor and Waukon public schools. Mr. Schmidt is a graduate of the Waterville high school and has been farming with his father.

After a short Wedding trip the new couple will be at home on the groom's farm near Waterville.
