Miss Ivadean Ahrens became the bride of Ralph R. Doeppke, April 21, at the Peace Evangelical and Reformed church. The Rev. Paul Kitterer officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Ahrens of Garber, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Doeppke of Elkader. Miss Norma Lantz, friend of the bride, was bridesmaid, and Ivan Doeppke served his brother as best man. Paul Doeppke, also a brother, was groomsman.
At the reception in the church parlors, Mrs. Carl Doeppke poured and Mrs. Ivan Doeppke cut the cake.
Mrs. Doeppke is a graduate of Elkader high school and since has been employed with Iowa Mutual Insurance Co., Cedar Rapids. Her husband received his honorable discharge from the U.S. Army last fall and is now employed with the Purina Feed Co. in Waukon, where the new home will be made.
