The marriage of Bonna Rae Hamlett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Hamlett, and Lowell Rodas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rodas, all of Strawberry Point, took place Sunday evening, June 23, in Emanuel Lutheran church in Strawberry Point. The Rev. S. J. Meyer officiated. Miss Betty Graf, friend of the bride, was maid of honor, and Betty Lou Rodas, sister of the groom, and Sharon Weger, Arlington, were bridesmaids. Donald Rodas, Edgewood, brother of the groom, was best man, and groomsmen were Jon Hamlett, brother of the bride, and William Buisman Jr., Elkader, cousin of the groom. Ring bearer was Dennis Roth, the groom's nephew, of Guttenberg.
A reception for approximately 250 guests was held in the church parlors, at which Mrs. E. E. Baily, Waterloo, cut the cake, and Mrs. Blanche Baldridge, Strawberry Point, and Mrs. R. A. Stenerson, Buffalo Center, poured the punch. All three women are aunts of the bride. Mrs. Donald Rodas presided at the guest book, and Joan Hamlett was in charge of gifts.
The bride is a graduate of Strawberry Point high school, where she attended the greater part of her senior year. Prior to that time she attended West High in Waterloo. Recently she has been employed at a Manchester hospital. The groom is a graduate of Edgewood high school and at present is farming east of Strawberry Point with his father.
