Halverson - Whitley marriage - 1957

Miss Dorothy Whitley, daughter of Mrs. Helen Whitley of Elkader and Art Whitley of San Rafael, Calif., became the bride of Vernett Halverson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Halverson of Elkader, Thur., May 09, in the Congregational Christian church. The Rev. George Richter officiated. The bride was given in marriage by her uncle, Delbert Hughes of Littleport. Candle-lighters were Junior Hughes and Kenneth Glawe. The ring-bearer was Kenneth Leonard, and flower girl was Lynn Halverson, a cousin of the groom. An usher was Gordon Halverson, brother of the groom.

Following a wedding trip to various places in Minnesota and Canada the couple will be at home in the apartment above the McTaggart furniture store.
