GARNAVILLO: The marriage of Bernice Masuen, daughter of Mrs. Mary Masuen of this place to James Connell, son of Mrs. James Connell Sr., was performed at St. Joseph's Church last Wednesday. The Rev. H. Scharphoff officiated.

Mrs. Connell graduated from the Garnavillo high school, attended summer school at the University of Dubuque and has since been employed at Tangeman's store here. Mr. Connell graduated from St. Joseph's high school in Elkader, attended Upper Iowa University and is now farming near Clayton Center.

A dinner was given for the bridal party at the home of the bride's sister, Mrs. Rebecca Meder, and was attended by the following: Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Connell and Martin Connell of Waterloo; Mrs. Gerald West and Kathryn Connell of Mason City; Mr. and Mrs. John Koelker of Dyersville; Mrs. James Connell and son Jack, Mr. and Mrs. Herb Masuen and Family, Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Masuen, Mr. and Mrs. Clem Meder, Mrs. Mary Masuen, and Mrs. Anna Mueller, Rev. H. Scharphoff, Francis Reinert, Angeline Zapf, and Mr. and Mrs. George Tangeman.

The new couple will be at home on a farm near Clayton Center.
