At the Giard Methodist church, Sunday, Sept. 05, Miss Evelyn Allert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Allert of McGregor, was united in marriage to Allan S. Bentley, son of Mr. and Mrs. O. R. Bentley of Ames. Preceding the ceremony vocalists, Miss Doris Bentley of Ames, sister of the groom, and Carlton Witter of McGregor, cousin of the bride rendered several selections. The Rev. Charles E. Mason of Manchester officiated. Bridesmaid was Miss Dorothea Wicks of Decorah, cousin of the bride. and Ushers were Gerald Murphy and Donald Hotchkiss of Ames, cousins of the groom.
The bride is a graduate of Monona high school and Luther college, Decorah. For the past two years she taught in northeast Iowa schools. The groom is a graduate of Napier consolidated school and Iowa State college at Ames. He is at present employed as the Clayton county extension youth assistant
The new couple departed on a two weeks honeymoon through the western states, and after Nov. 01 the couple will be at home on a farm near Ames.
