Miss Elaine Kathryn Martin and Roy A. Syverson were married Jan. 24 at the parsonage of the Peace Evangelical and Reformed church. The Rev. Paul Kitterer, pastor, officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Elsie Martin, Elkader, and the groom is the son of Mrs. Anna Syverson, also of Elkader. Attendants were Miss Ione Syverson, sister of the groom, and Virgil C. Martin, brother of the bride.

Mrs. Syverson is a graduate of the Elkader high school and junior college. Upon graduation she accepted a civil service position at Great Lakes, Ill. Later enlisting in the Marine Corps. She received her honorable discharge as a Technical Sergeant in August 1946. She has since been employed in the office of the Anderson Lumber company, Elkader, where she will continue her work. Her husband attended Wesley high school at Wesley, Iowa. He is a veteran of four years service, part of which was spent in the European Theatre. He is now operating a welding shop in Elkader.

The couple will be at home in the upstairs apartment in the home of the bridegroom's mother on the East Side.
