Becker - Hearn marriage - 1946

December 19, in the George W. Hearns' home, 2335 Ridgway Drive S.E., their daughter, Miss Betty Hearn, became the bride of James Smith Becker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl F. Becker of Mt. Vernon, one time Clayton county superintendent of schools at Elkader. James is also grandson of Nellie K. Smith of Volga. Dr. Albin C. Bro of Mt. Carroll, Ill., officiated.

A graduate of Frances Shimer college, Mt. Carroll, Ill., Mrs. Becker attended Purdue university and the University of Iowa. She was affiliated with Alpha Xi Delta sorority. Mr. Becker graduated from Occidental college, Eagle Grove, Calif., and is a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity.
