The marriage of Miss Shirley Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver H. Johnson of St. Olaf to Hubert P. Largent So M 1/c U.S. Navy, son of John W. Largent of Orlando, Florida, took place in the Norway Lutheran church November 9th. Dr. S. J. Strandjord officiated. Mrs. LeRoy Larson, sister of the groom, served as matron of honor and Miss Ruth Knuth, cousin of the bride, and Mrs. Bob Hansen, friend of the bride served as bridesmaids. Jon Johnson, brother of the bride, acted as ring bearer. LeRoy Larson served as best man.
The bride was graduated from Elkader high school and Northwestern Hospital school of Nursing in Minneapolis, Minn. Mr. Largent was graduated from Lyman school, Longwood, Florida. He was employed as bookkeeper with Southern Fairies Frozen Foods at Orlando and Jacksonville, Florida. Enlisting in the Navy he saw eighteen months of active duty in the Pacific. At present he is in training at the Naval Research Laboratories, Washington, D.C., where the new couple will make their home at 1635 "V" St. S.E.
