O'Connor - Winkler marriage - 1946

Miss Irene Winkler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Winkler of Elkader, became the bride of Marvin J. O'Connor, son of Mrs. Hazel O'Connor of Marion, Iowa. The ceremony occurred at the congregational Christian church in Elkader, Sunday. The Rev. B. Shaw, pastor of the Edgewood Congregational church, officiated. Attendants were Miss Jean Jones and George Jones, both of Marion and cousins of the bride.

Mrs. O'Connor is a graduate of the Elkader high school and junior college. During the war she was employed at Smulekoff's in Cedar Rapids. Mr. O'Connor is a graduate of the Manchester high school. He received his discharge from the service the latter part of October after four years in the South Pacific area. He is now employed with the Osco drug company in Cedar Rapids. They will live in Marion.
