ELKPORT: Miss Loretta Meyer, daughter of Mrs. George Kriebs of Elkport, and Louis Heying of New Vienna were married June 11, in St. Michael's church at Garber, by the Rev. F. J. McEnany. The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Cyril Meyer, and was attended by Miss Jeanette Heying of Dubuque, a cousin of the groom, and George Kriebs, brother of the bride, was best man. Joann Schenke of Colesburg, niece of the bride, carried a cushion with the rings. Edgar Schenke of Colesburg was usher. Miss Dorene Heying and Miss Ruth Abela of New Vienna, cousins of the groom, sang hymns during the ceremony accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Harold Kriebs of Elkport. Mrs. George Vorwald, mother of the groom, was in attendance.

Mrs. Heying was graduated from the Elkport high school. She attended School of Beauty culture in Waterloo and for the past eight years has operated a beauty shop in Elkport. Mr. Heying graduated from St. Boniface high school at New Vienna. He served four years with the Army Air Forces as a bomber pilot, one year of which was spent in German prison camps. He was discharged as a First Lieutenant.
