Meyers - O'Brien marriage - 1946

The wedding of Miss Dorothy Lavon O'Brien, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. O'Brien, Volga City, and Francis Howard Meyers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Meyers, Volga City, was solemnized Wednesday, Feb. 27, at Sacred Heart church. Rev. D. T. Noonan, pastor, officiated. Duane O'Brien, soloist, sang several selections at the communion. Edwin O'Brien, the bride's brother, served as best man.

The bride is a graduate of St. Joseph's high school, Elkader, class of 1945. The groom graduated in 1940 from the Volga high school, and is engaged in farming with his father on the farm north of Volga, where the new couple will reside.

The wedding day also marked the 22nd wedding of the bride's parents.
