Marriage vows were exchanged by Miss Ilo Mae Oelke, daughter of Mr. Lester Oelke and the late Mrs. Oelke of Farmersburg, and Robert L. Weltner, son of Mr. and Mrs. K. H. Weltner of Waverly, last Sunday at St. John's Lutheran church at Farmersburg. The Rev. K. F. Weltner of Canova, S. Dak., uncle of the groom officiated, assisted by the Rev. R. H. Steege of Farmersburg. Mrs. Lloyd Lenth, sister of the bride, was matron of honor, and bridesmaids were Mrs. Vernis Henkes, cousin of the bride, and Miss Janette Martens. Ernest W. Brandt of Waverly was best man. William Weltner of Winona, Minn., and Gaylord D. Oelke of Monona, served as junior ushers. Miss Maryl__ Baker of Chicago, cousin of the groom, sang several selections. The bride's grandmother, Mrs. Mary Bruns of Monona, was in attendance.
The bride is a graduate of the Farmersburg high school and also graduated from a two year business course at Wartburg college and has been employed by the Lutheran Mutual Life Insurance Co. for the past three years. The groom is a graduate of the Waverly high school and attended Wartburg college for one year. For the past year he has been employed by the Nuss Hatchery at Waverly.
After a wedding trip to the Ozarks the new couple will be at home on a farm at Farmersburg.
