Miss Mary Elaine Berns, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Berns of Strawberry Point, and Don Welsh, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Welsh of Elkader, were married at St. Mary's church at Strawberry Point, Saturday, June 24. The Rev. Wilfred Kress officiated. Mrs. Ervin Tucker attended her sister as matron of honor, and Carroll Welsh served his brother as best man. Ushers were Ervin Tucker and Leon Welsh. The new couple will spend their honeymoon at the country home of Mrs. Welsh's uncle, Mr. and Mrs. R. V. Gleason, north of Minneapols.
Mrs. Welsh is a graduate of the Strawberry Point high school and attended Elkader junior college. For the past two years she has been employed in the office of A. J. Johnson. Her husband is a graduate of St. Joseph's school, Elkader. He served with the Marines in the South Pacific during World War II and is now engaged in farming.
