Miss Erma Stannard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O. D. Stannard of Volga City, became the bride of Lawrence Lerch, son of Mrs. Selma Lerch Meisner of Elgin, Sunday, Sept. 23, at the Highland Lutheran church. The Rev. A. O. Nesset officiated. Bridesmaid was Miss Elva Lerch, Elgin, sister of groom, and the Matron of honor was Miss Katherine Stannard. Orville Stannard, Jr., brother of the bride, was best man. Miss Evelyn Stannard, sister of the bride, sang, and Vernon Wilker and Mervin Larson were the ushers.
The bride, a graduate of the Elkader high school, is teaching a rural school near Elgin. The groom is employed on the Ewald Thiese farm near Volga at the present time.
