Longmuir - Klingman marriage - 1945

June 17, at St. Sebald Lutheran church, occurred the wedding of Miss Leona Klingman, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Klingman, to Robert Longmuir, youngest son of Allan Longmuir, all of Volga City. Rev. H. H. Hahn officiated. Maid of honor was the bride's cousin, Miss Amy Lou Donlon of Elkader, and bridesmaid was sister of the bride, Miss Corrine Klingman. Brother of the groom, John Longmuir of Elgin, Ill., was best man. Ring bearer was Loy Klingman of Arlington, cousin of the bride. The flower girl was also a cousin of the bride, Miss Marjorie Minger of Wadena. Ushers were Lee Roy Klingman, brother of the bride, and Glenn Medberry, cousin of the groom.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at which were over 200 guests. Waitresses were: Arlene Medberry, Lulu Arlene Minger, Luella Little, Dorothy Fascher and Iva Nell Hoth.

The bride is a graduate of the Strawberry Point high school, attended Junior college at Elkader and the past two years has taught school. The groom graduated from the Wadena high school and the past few years has been engaged in farming with his father in Highland township.

The young couple will establish their home on the Longmuir farm north of Volga City.

Among the relatives from a distance who attended the wedding and reception were: Mrs. L. A. Grimes, Beverly and Thelma, West Union; Mrs. Clarence Stroschiem, Hawkeye; John Longmuir, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Burnidge, Mrs. Bernard Kerr and daughter, Bonnie Jean, all of Elgin, Ill.
