McDowell - Cook marriage - 1944

Miss Burma Cook, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Cook of Elkader, became the bride of Howard McDowell, son of Grant McDowell of Elkader, Wednesday, Aug. 16, at the parsonage of the Friedens Evangelical and Reformed church. The Rev. P. Kitterer officiated. Attending the couple were Miss Florence Ogle and Leo Benson of Elgin.

The bride is a graduate of Elgin high school and attended Elkader junior college and Upper Iowa University. For the past several years she has taught school. Mr. McDowell is a graduate of Elkader high school and is now employed on his father's farm, where the couple will make their home.
