Thompson - Gulsvig marriage - 1944

A pretty wedding occurred at the Marion Lutheran church at Gunder, Thursday, June 15, when Miss Mae Gulsvig, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Gulsvig of St. Olaf, became the bride of Tillman J. Thompson of Postville, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thore Thompson of Wadena. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. V. Fiskerbeck of Ossian, brother-in-law of the bride. Mrs. V. A. Fiskerbeck, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor and Miss Evelyn Thompson, sister of the groom, was bridesmaid. Elizabeth and Ardis Fiskerbeck, nieces of the bride, acted as ring bearer and flower girl. Floyd Thompson was best man, and Almar Gulsvig was usher.

The bride is a graduate of the Elkader high school and attended Elkader junior college. For the past number of years she has been teaching. The groom is a graduate of the Wadena high school and is now operating his own farm north of Gunder, where the new home will be made.

June 15 was also the 34th wedding anniversary of the bride's parents, and the 10th wedding anniversary of the bride's brother-in-law and sister, the Rev. and Mrs. V. A. Fiskerbeck.
