Kiest - Walter marriage - 1944

In a candlelight ceremony Saturday Miss Joanne Walter, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. J. Frederick Walter, became the bride of Vernon A. Kiest of Peoria, Ill., son of Grover C. Kiest of Quincy, Ill. at the Methodist church. The Rev. E. H. Shuey officiated. Miss Mary Walter, sister of the bride, was maid of honor, and the groom's attendant was C. D. Coddingham, of Peoria. Miss Judy Walters, cousin of the bride, was ringbearer.

Mrs. Kiest is a graduate of the McGregor high school and Iowa State College. She spent a year as student dietician in Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago and since last August has been employed by the Methodist hospital in Peoria. Mr. Kiest graduated from Quincy high school and the University of Illinois. He is at present business manager of the Peoria Methodist hospital.
