Harriett Taylor Beck, 94 died Sunday, April 18 at Northshire Residence in Spencer
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church, Spencer with the Rev. Harlan Betz officiating.
Casket bearers will be Ralph Beck, Earl Klaessy, Duane Schoning, Wayne Peterson, Harold Brigham and Ed Jensen
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Spencer
The Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements
Mrs. Beck, the daughter of Preston William and Laura Etta (Forgey) Taylor, was born April 7, 1899 in Tyler, Texas. In 1901 her family moved to Iowa where she received her early education in country schools near Washta in Cherokee County. In 1909 she moved to Spencer and lived with the I.G. Heikens family until she was 18 years old
She married Gustav Adolph Beck on December 10, 1917 at the Methodist parsonage in Spencer. Following their marriage they lived on farms near Spencer until moving into Spencer in 1939.
Mrs. Beck was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Spencer and she volunteered at the Senior Center
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and four sisters
She is survived by one son and his wife, Robert and Dorothy Beck of Spencer; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild
