Funeral services for Mrs. Earl (Edith Mae) Bowers, 93, were held at the United Methodist church, Mechanicsville, Feb. 6 with the Rev. Jaymee Glen Burns officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery. Pallbearers were Roxy, Larry, Dan, Bob, Joe and Dale Johnson. Mrs. Frances Robinson was organist.

Mrs. Bowers died at Mercy hospital, Cedar Rapids, Feb. 2.

The daughter of John and Lizzie Conner Schorr, she was born June 19, 1894. She married Earl Bowers at Anamosa Aug. 1, 1922. A former teacher and farm wife, she lived in the Mechanicsville area all of her life.

Mrs. Bowers was a member of the United Methodist church of Mechanicsville and the Royal Neighbors at the time of her death.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and 2 brothers, Willard and John.
