Died in Atlantic

John W. Murphy, 82 years old died
Monday morning at 7:30 o'clock at
the home of his daughter, Mrs. W.
H. Hammer in Atlantic. He has been
in ill health for several years and
death was due to complications inci-
dent to old age.

He was born Jan. 23, 1848, at Cen-
terberg, Ohio, the son of Nicholas
Murphy. On Jan. 28, 1876, he was
united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth
Livezey, who preceded him in death
in 1920. The family came to Exira in
1905 and lived there until they moved
to Atlantic in 1908. Mrs. Hammer
is the only surviving member of the
family.

Funeral services were held Tues-
day afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the
Church of Christ, the Rev. Ross Wil-
liams officiating. Burial was in the
Atlantic cemetery.
