Massena, Ia., Jan. 3--The remains of Mrs. Mary E. Willis arrived here Tuesday morning from Colby, Kansas, and were accompanied by her son, A. H. and her daughter, Miss Lizzie Willis, both of Colby, Kansas.

Mary J. Murray was born in Indiana Oct. 16, 1836. Her parents died when she was but a child and she was thrown upon her own resources at the early age of ten years. She came to Illinois in 1853 and in 1871 was united in marriage to Elias Willis. They came to Iowa and settled in Cass county and lived near and in Massena until Oct. 1910 when the family removed to Colby, Kansas. Early in the spring of 1911 Mr. Willis died and was brought to Massena for burial. Mrs. Willis died Dec. 30 in Colby. Funeral services were held from the Methodist church at 11 o'clock Tuesday, conducted by Rev. Carlson, and interment was made in the Massena cemetery.

She is survived by three children, A. H. and Lizzie of Colby, and Charles of Atlantic; one sister, one brother, thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. (Atlantic News Telegraph, Jan, 3, 1912)
