Cora Muriel Nelson, 82, wife of Ivan A. Nelson of Lewis, died this noon at her home in Lewis. Mrs. Nelson had been in failing health two years and seriously ill the last five weeks.
She was born in Mifflin, Wis., Oct 12, 1866, and came with her parents, Peter and Elizabeth Clow, to Audubon county in a stagecoach when she was 13 years old. She was married at Cumberland to Mr. Nelson March 5, 1887, and had resided in Cass county since.
Surviving besides the husband are three sons, Virgil E. Nelson of Macedonia, Herschel A. Nelson of Griswold and Harold L. Nelson of Lewis; a brother Argus Clow of Atlantic; 15 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren. A daughter, Nellie M. Smith, died Jan 14, 1941.
The remains will be at the Roland, Peacock & Baxter funeral home here until 11 o’clock Saturday morning and funeral rites will be heal that afternoon at 2:30 at the Lewis Methodist church. The Rev. Jay Waterman will officiate and interment will be in Oakwood cemetery at Lewis.
