My line of descent from William Goheen is:
William Goheen + Frances Nicely>
Edward Rufus Goheen + Margaret Hardman>
Albert Newton Goheen + Lucy Irene Wagner>
Grover Cleveland Goheen + Laurine Halcyon Green>
Donald Cameron Goheen + Jeanne Marie Blevin>
Denise Christine Goheen + Cameron Lee Mandeville>
Me, Daniel Cameron MandevilleIt is worth noting that Lucy Wagner's mother was Roxanna Bragg, whose brother was Lafayette Bragg. (I believe that "Aunt Jane" Bragg was married to Lafayette, and that she was a Burress, sister of Maryanne Burress who married James Wilson Goheen.)
I have lots of information on Rufus Goheen and some of the lines descended from him. Rufus and Margaret's children were:
Florence Josephine Goheen (married John M. Huff)
Mary Louisa Goheen (married Walter E. Cathey)
Albert Newton Goheen (see above)
William Loren Goheen (married Mary L. Charlton)
Oscar B. GoheenI can't find Oscar after the 1880 Census, but Rufus, Margaret, and the rest of their children eventually ended up in Clark County, WA, after some time in Minnesota. William later ended up in Pierce County, WA, and Albert in Skamania County, WA, but the rest of them died in Clark County, which is on the Washington side of the Columbia River, across from Portland, OR.
I have more information to share, and would be interested in the descendants of James Wilson Goheen as well as the ancestry of James and Rufus. I have reason to believe that they came from Botetourt County, VA originally, but have reached a dead-end there.
