DIES FOLLOWING OPERATION

Mary, six year old daughter of Mrs.
Marie Madsen who resides northwest
of Exira, died last Thursday, April
24, at the Atlantic hospital following
an operation for appendicitis.

She was born in Hamlin township,
Audubon county, Iowa, October 6th,
1917. She leaves to mourn her loss
the mother, four brothers and four
sisters. Her father (Lawrence M. Madsen) died about four
years ago.

Funeral services were held Satur-
day afternoon at St. John's church
west of town Rev. Mikkelsen officiat-
ing. Interment was in St. John's
cemetery.

We desire to express our sincere
thanks to the neighbors and friends
for the many kindnesses shown during
the illness and death of our beloved
daughter and sister. We are also very
grateful for the help received and the
beautiful flowers.
