YOUNG MAN KILLED
NEAR OAKFIELD
DIED TWO HOURS AFTER BEING
INJURED IN A FALL FROM A
HORSE SATURDAY EVE

Raymond Pallesen was thrown from
his horse Saturday night near Oak-
field sustaining injuries from which
he died. He in company with Donald
Baumgardner was on his way to Bray-
ton when his horse slipped on the ice
throwing him to the ground. His
neck was broken by the fall, but he
lived about two hours being taken to
the home of Miller Kyndesen in
Brayton.

Raymond Leonard Pallesen was
born July 22, 1906 near Exira, Iowa.
His parents were Niels Peter and
Johanna Pallesen, who most of their
married life lived on a farm near
Brayton. One month more and it would
be five years since his father ceased
his days on earth, leaving the mother
to take care of three children. Ray-
mond's sister, Minnie, is two years
his senior, while his brother Harold
is a few years younger. Two years
ago this month Mrs. Pallesen remar-
ried to Thue Kyndesen, a farmer
near Brayton, where the children have
since had their home, except when
working out for others. To this mar-
riage was born another brother,
Martin. (Marvin Kyndesen)

Raymond was baptized as an in??
at St. John's Danish Lutheran church
west of Exira, where his earthly re-
mains are interred close to his fath-
er's. About three years ago he was
confirmed in the faith of his Savior,
Jesus Christ at the Exira Danish
Lutheran church. Here now his family
and friends gathered to partake in the
funeral service over his bier and
his pallid face for the last time
this vale of sorrow and accidents
where also we, by the great merciful
God, are regenerated unto a ???
hope by the resurrection of ???
Christ from the dead, unto an ???
itance incorruptible and undefiled
that fadeth not away, reserved
heaven for you, who by the power of
God, are guarded through faith
a salvation ready to be revealed
last time. (1 Peter 1:3 to 5.)
this hope be the best comfort for the
bereaved family, for whom we ex-
ress our deepest sympathy.

Raymond was a good son and
brother and a splendid friend. May
his eternal lot be with the blessed.
