Homer Charles Booton

Funeral services were held April 14, 1962, from the first Presbyterian church here with burial in Arlington Heights cemetery for Homer Charles Booton, 73, who died of a heart attack April 7 at Rockport, Texas.

Born in 1889 in Viola township, Mr. Booton was the son of Charles and Nellie (Angevine) Booton. Homer's parents were among the first 100 families to settle in Audubon. In 1910, Homer was married to Grace L. Kibby. To this union were born three children.

Mr. Booton lived in the Audubon community for about 58 years. He operated a billiard hall and also managed the Iowa liquor store here. A graduate of Audubon High School, he was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Presbyterian church.

Mr. Booton is survived by his wife; two sons, Donald, Des Moines, and Glenn, New York City, and one daughter, Mrs. Dean Knudson, Ames. Several grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ray and Leo Booton. Homer had been ill two weeks prior to his death.

Rev. Andrew Hofer officiated at funeral services.
