June Nissen Seils

June Nissen Seils June Nissen Seils born June 24, 1922 in Audubon, Iowa passed away on April 12, 2006. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Wilbur H. Seils and her brother, Michael R. Nissen. June served as Legislative Assistant to Long Beach City Councilman Dr. Tom Clark and later as his assistant as Mayor of the City of Long Beach. She was an active member of Dames Club, Ebell Juniors, Carver and Stanford PTA's, and Los Altos United Methodist Church. She loved Angels baseball games that she frequently attended with her friend of more than 50 years, Laura Pievac. She had been an avid golfer and card player, excelling at Bridge and Pinochle. Before moving to Long Beach in 1941 to work at McDonnell Douglass, she sang on the radio in her hometown of Chicago. She is survived by her daughters, Lori Seils and Rana Seils Pascoe, M.D.; her niece, Barbara Foye; and her grandchildren, Goldie Seils, Ryan Pascoe, Joshua Pascoe, and Kristin Pascoe. She will be missed by many. A memorial service will be held at Los Altos United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 22 at 1:00pm. Forest Lawn - Long Beach, 800-204-3131.
