February 2021

February 3, 2021:  Added Audubon County WWI Casualties from "Soldiers of the Great War" Vol. I, including 3 individual soldier photos. Many thanks to Eric and Marcia Driggs for this wonderful contribution!

October 2020

October 22, 2020:  Many thanks to Ann Trullinger!! Ann walked and photographed many Audubon County cemeteries over the past year, and photos of all existing gravestones in Adventist Cemetery are now complete on Iowagravestones. GPS location links are available for the cemetery, and for each individual gravestones within the cemetery. Click the GPS coordinates to view on a map.

October 11, 2020:  Updated list of Audubon County Century & Heritage Farms with 2020 additions. (Application forms not online yet at Dept. of Agriculture)

October 2, 2020: Added 20 "N" surname biographies from the 1915 History of Audubon County. All "N" surname 1915 biographies have been transcribed (complete set).

September 30, 2020: Added 27 "S" surname biographies from the 1915 History of Audubon County. All "S" surname 1915 biographies have been transcribed (complete set).

September 25, 2020: Added vintage photos of the Knud and Kersten Rasmussen Family of Poplar, contributed by a great-granddaughter of Knud and Kersten's daughter Marie (Rasmussen) Christensen.

September 24, 2020: Added 15 "R" surname biographies from the 1915 History of Audubon County. All "R" surname 1915 biographies have been transcribed (complete set).

September 23, 2020: Added photos of Samuel and Alice (Worrell) Jordan and Lillie (Markley) Lacy and Frances. Also added 26 additional biographies from the 1915 History of Audubon County. All "M" surname 1915 biographies have now been transcribed (complete set).

September 16, 2020: Added 8 additional biographies from the 1915 History of Audubon County (Madsen, Mantz, Marcusen, Mardesen and Marquesen).

June 23, 2020: Added 1860 Federal Census Mortality Schedule 3, enumerating Audubon County residents who died during the year ending June 1, 1860. Also added 1870 Federal Census Mortality Schedule 2, enumerating Audubon County residents who died during the year ending June 1, 1870.

June 22, 2020: Added 1880 Federal Census Mortality Schedule 5, enumerating Audubon County residents who died during the year ending May 31, 1880 (June 1, 1879-May 31, 1880).

June 16, 2020: Added 1938 8th Grade Promotion Exercises.

June 16, 2020: Added photo of Annie Tibken, who taught township/country school in Audubon Township circa 1900-1905. Also added an additional photo of Herbert & Emma Hocamp at Fort Worden, WA and photo of A Bunch of Iowa Hayseeds, 3 Iowa soldiers and their families at Fort Worden, WA.

May 25, 2020: Added D. W. Fullerton, Republican Candidate for Audubon County Sheriff card (no date). Also added Audubon Popcorn Wagon.

May 18, 2020: Added all remaining 1898 Columbian Club Cook Book advertisements.

May 16, 2020: Added 1915 Audubon County Teachers' Institute program. Also added 1898 advertisements for Frazier, The Photographer, & for J. J. Lidd, The Clothier and Tailor from the Columbian Club Cook Book.

May 13, 2020: Added photo and obituary of Jensena Dorothy "Sine" Larsen. Also added photos of the Michael Vokt family and the John Vokt family.

May 9, 2020: Added transcription of a biographical news clipping about Pastor Valdemar S. Jensen and the Kimballton Lutheran church's celebration of his ordination anniversary.

May 1, 2020: Added biography of Benjamin I. Salinger, who was admitted to the bar by Judge Loofborrow and owned land in Audubon Twp. in 1900.

April 2020

April 24, 2020: Added photo of an unknown large group circa 1900 that includes members of the Vokt family. It is unknown if the group is extended family or possibly St. John's Lutheran Church (Audubon Twp.) members. Also added Audubon Then...and Now (2003) Table of Contents and Index of Family Biographies.

April 16, 2020: Added photo of the original St. John's Lutheran (Audubon Twp.) church building and several additional vintage group photos. Does anyone recognize any individuals in the photos? This church was located at the county line between Audubon and Guthrie counties, drawing members from both counties.

April 2, 2020: Added a second vintage photo postcard of Albert the Bull and 5 more Street Scenes. Thanks again to David Shedlock!

Also added vintage advertisement for J. B. Connrardy Store at Exira, contributed by Susie Simpson.
