Paul Frederick Scharff was born June 9, 1916 to Frederick Theodore and Marie Emma Bertha Hahn Scharff. He died May 28, 1944 and is buried in Madison Cemetery, Aurora, IA. 

1st Lt. Scharff served with the U.S. Army Air Corps as a B-17 pilot and died of wounds received when shot down in Germany. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, Purple Heart and Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters.

Anthony William “Tony” Snoble was born Apr. 10, 1922 to Joseph and Ruzena “Rose” Novak Snoble. He died Mar. 27, 1945, was buried at sea, and is memorialized at the Courts of the Missing, Court 2, Honolulu, Hawaii and has a cenotaph in Fontana Cemetery, Hazleton, IA.

Petty Officer Snoble served in World War II with the U.S. Navy and died in the South Pacific while in the service of his country.

Jerry Joseph Snoble was born Sept. 17, 1920 to Joseph and Ruzena “Rose” Snoble. He died Mar. 13, 2013 and is buried in Fontana Cemetery, Hazleton, IA.

Sgt. Snoble served in World War II with the U.S. Army.

Edgar Paul Sparks was born May 26, 1896 to John and Etta Delilah Kester Sparks. He died Sept. 30, 1947 and is buried in Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno, CA.

Lt. Col. Sparks served in World War II with the U.S. Army Quartermaster Corps.

Donald Witney Spragg was born Oct. 10, 1920 to Percy Allman and Marian Flynn Spragg. He died Oct. 30, 1949 and is buried in Fontana Cemetery, Hazleton, IA.

Donald served with the U.S. Navy in World War II.
