This listing of Churches of Jefferson County comes from the information transcribed by Dorothy Rathbun from an 1871 Jefferson County map provided by Janet Roberts.  A notebook with an Atlas of these maps showing these churches has been prepared by and is available from the Jefferson County Genealogical Society.

Names are listed alphabetically listing the township and the section of the township in which the church was located.  The names of the churches were not listed on the map but were added to the information from other sources.  The map only notes a "church."  This listing of the churches provides only those in the rural areas.  Churches in the towns are not listed here.
