Dies at His Home

Fay Albert Thompson, 60, lifetime resident of Jasper county and a Newton cement contractor, died early yesterday at his home, 900 East Twelfth street South, following an illness of three years.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at two o'clock at Morgan Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. James a Kfeiller, pastor of Full Gospel church, burial will be at Sugar Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Thompson was born near Metz on May 2, 1892, and was educated in Jasper county schools. He married the former Nondes Ferguson and the couple lived in Newton. He was a member of the Full Gospel church and the Cement Finishers Union of Des Moines.

Survivors include his widow; three sons, Clifford of Des Moines, Durnis and Lee of Newton; one daughter, Mrs. Leonard (Mildred) Mallory of Des Moines, and nine grandchildren. A daughter, Alice, preceded him in death. ~ The Newton Daily News, June 2, 1952

Obituary

Nondes L. Thompson, 100, of Newton died of a heart ailment Monday at Newton Health Care Center, where she was a resident since 1987. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home, and burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Thompson was born near Mingo and moved to Newton in 1952. She was a homemaker and member of First Assembly of God.

Surviving are a son, Clifford of Newton; 10 grandchildren, including Barbara Langerak of altoona, whom Mrs. Thompson raised; 39 great-grandchildren; and 28 great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after noon today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to her church. ~ The Des Moines Register, July 14, 1993.

Donna F. Thompson

Donna Faye Noble Thompson, 55, of 416 W. 8th St. N., died Sunday afternoon, April 12, at her home of acute hepatic failure.

Graveside rites will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Sugar Grove Cemetery.

The Rev. Eldon Pals, a Baptist pastor, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Sugar Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home after 8 a.m. Tuesday.

Survivors are her husband Clifford; a son, Dana Cusic of Florence, Ore.; two daughters, Elaine Cusic of Livingston, Mont., and Karen Rose of Pleasant Hill, Ore.; five grandchildren; and a sister, Carol Dawson of Killeen, Tex.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.

Mrs. Thompson was a homemaker and 20 year resident of the local area.

The daughter of Glen and Hazel Katherine Meeks Noble, she was born July 24, 1931 in Swink, Colo.

Clifford Thompson

Clifford G. Thompson, 82, of 416 W 8th St N. died of heart failure Thursday evening, Nov. 7, at Nelson Manor Nursing HOme in Newton.

Graveside services will be Monday, Nov. 11, at Sugar Grove Cemetery in rural Newton.

No visitation is planned.

Memorials in Mr. Thompson's name will be accepted.

Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton is in charge of arrangements.

Born July 15, 1914, in West Bend, he was the son of Faye Albert and Nondes Leonia Ferguson Thompson.

He married Madalyn Hayes in 1932 and following her death in 1977, he married Donna Fay Noble March 11, 1982, in Newton.

A resident of Newton since 1978, he was a welder for Eddie Anderson in Newton.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jean J. and Ronald Faidley of Brooklyn; three grandchildren; one-great-grandchild; and a special friend, Doris Brooks of Newton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife; his second wife, who died April 12, 1987; two brothers, Lee and Burnis; and a sister, Mildred Mallory. ~ The Newton Daily News, November 11, 1996.
