Martha Thompson

Died

THOMPSON -- On Sunday, Sept. 11, 1881, at 2 o'clock p.m., Mrs. Martha Thompson, in her forty-fourth year.

Deceased was a daughter of Mr. J. O. Chapman, of this place, and a sister of Mrs. Harry Gulusha and Mrs. Leonard Greenleaf. She leaves a husband and seven children to mourn her loss. About a year ago the family moved to this country from Illinois, and settled in Sherman. Mrs. Thompson had suffered for a long time with that dread disease, consumption, which caused her death. She lived an exemplary life, and died in the hope of a blessed immortality. ~ Newton Journal, September 15, 1881
