Florence Miller Funeral Tuesday: Was Traffic Victim
An eye witness to the traffic accident Saturday noon in
which Miss Florence Miller was killed at the corner of North
2nd Ave East and East 2nd St. North reported that Miss
Miller "apparently did not see the car" driven by George
Allen as she stepped of the curb. The witness told police
that Allen's car was "not going very fast...apparently about 10 miles an hour." Allen stopped his car after the front wheel had passed over Miss Miller. It was the witness' opinion in his statement to the police that the driver could
not have stopped any sooner than he did. Allen, who has
suffered previously from a heart condition, was hospitalized
in Skiff after the accident. He was released Sunday. No
charges were filed.
