Dies Sunday at Age 62 Years
Frank Mather, 62, native resident of Jasper county, died
Sunday at the Skiff Memorial hospital, following an operatin
last Wednesday for acute appendicitis. The appendix was
found to be ruptured when the operation was performed.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.
for the Murdoch funeral home by the Rev. S. A. Bullers.
Interment will be in the Sugar Grove cemetery.
Mr. Mather was born in Reasnor June 24, 1873, and at the
age of eight years moved with his parents to Adel, Ia.,
where they resided for several years. Later they located in
Missouri, remaining there until his mother's death, which
occurred in 1894. The remainder of his life was spent in
Iowa.
He was united in marriage to Sophia Benskin of Newton
June 24, 1935, in Unionville, Mo. The couple resided on her
farm northwest of Newton.
He was baptized in the Methodist church in Missouri and
was a member of the Oak Ridge grange.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two brothers, Fred
and Melvin. He was preceded in death by his parents, one
borther and one sister. ~ Newton Daily News, May 25,
