Born: August 18, 1945 in Newton, Jasper Co., Iowa Lee Lind, 58, died Friday, August 29, 2003, at his home in Colfax. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Colfax United Methodist Church, interment will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery, Newton. Lee was born August 18, 1945 the son of George and Esther Alexander Lind. He was a 1963 graduate of Colfax High School and a graduate of Iowa State University. He was a manager of Lind Implement at Colfax, a member of the Colfax United Methodist Church, Sugar Grove Grange, National Appaloosa Horse Club, member and past president of Midwest Appaloosa Horse Association and a long-time Appaloosa Horse Futurity manager. He also owned LJL Ranch at Colfax. He is survived by his wife, Judy; daughters, Kendra of Colfax and Kelly of Cleburn, TX; father, George of Colfax and two brothers, Dennis and Marvin of Colfax. The son of George and Esther (Alexander) Lind, he was born Aug 18, 1945 in Newton. He graduated from Colfax High School in 1963 and was a graduate of Iowa State University. On June 27, 1970, he married Judy Taulker in Burlington. He was manager of Lind Implements in Colfax and also owned LJL Ranch. He was a member of the Colfax United Methodist Church, Sugar Grove Grange, National Appaloosa Horse Club and longtime president and member of Midwest Appaloosa House Association. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Kendra Lind of Colfax and Kelly Line of Cleburn, Texas; two brothers, Marvin and Dennis Lind, both of Colfax; and his father, also of Colfax.
