Obituary: William Albert Danley

William Albert Danley, 72 of 6208 S. 36th Ave. W., died of heart failure, Thursday, Jan. 27, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Newton Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Ed. Aubuchon, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Sugar Grove Cemetery in rural Newton.

Friends may call after 1 p.m. Monday at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton where family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials to First Assembly of God will be accepted.

The son of Carl Albert and Ila Laura Anthony Danley, he was born July 6, 1927, in rural Newton. He attended Jasper County and Des Moines schools. He married Shirley Louise Simpson Aug 30, 1952, in Des Moines.

A resident of Des Moines from 1937 to 1947, he then moved to Newton. A longtime resident of Newton, Mr. Danley was employed as a machinist by Fisher Controls in Marshalltown before retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Newton Assembly of God Church, UAW Local No 997 and 893, Newton American Legion and was a veteran of the United States navy, serving during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; four sons and daughters-in-laws, Rodger Dale and Laura, Johnny Karl and Carolyn, Russell William and Ann, and Tommy Dean and Diane, all of Newton; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandsons; three brothers, Ronald Dean of Newton, Dennis Carl of Garden Grove and Randy David of Knoxville; two sisters, Phyllis L. Hackley of Des Moines, and Kathie Danley of Newton; two brother-in-law, Terry Pielstick and Skip Simpson; five sisters-in-laws, Janice Chisholm, Karla Kay Lunberg, Karole, Becky Cummins and Carol Griffith; his step-mother, Esther Danley; and a father-in-law, Therman Simpson.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, a son, two grandsons and two brothers-in-law. ~ Newton Daily News, January 28, 2000.

Obituary of Shirley Danley

Shirley Louise Danley, the daughter of Therman Elvin and Esther Louse (Wonders) Simpson, was born February 7, 1937 in Newton, Iowa. She attended country schools. On August 30, 1952, Shirley was united in marriage with William Albert Danley in Des Moines, Iowa.

Shirley devoted her life to her husband and family. She had worked as a cashier at Dickerson Farms and had had worked in the kitchen at Pat and Mel’s in Colfax; Country Kitchen and Bob and Frankies. Shirley enjoyed her flowers, gardening, cooking, fishing, Camping with the family; watching Minnesota Vikings Football; going on trips with Bill especially taking the family to the Sydney rodeo; and her dog, Mighty Dog.

Shirley died on Monday, August 7, 2017 at Newton Healthcare Center. She was 80 years old. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; her sons, Jackie Lee Danley and Rodger Danley; one granddaughter; two grandsons; her brother, Jackie Simpson and her ½ Sister, Kathie Danley.

Those left to honor Shirley’s name include her sons, John K. Danley of newton, Russell W. Danley of Newton and Tom D. (Carolyn) Danley of Newton; her daughter-in-law, Laura Danley of Newton; her ten grandchildren and her twenty-eight great grandchildren; her sisters, Janis and Karla; her ½ sister Janet; and her ½ brothers, Terry, Skip, Randy and Dennis; and her brother-in-law, Dean (Pat) Danley.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 11, 2017 at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton. The family will greet friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be designated n Shirley’s name and may be left at the funeral home.

Obituary of Roger Danley

Newton - Funeral services for Rodger will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at the First Assembly of God Church in Newton. The Pence~Reese Funeral Home in Newton, have been entrusted with the arrangements. A visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, at the funeral home. In LIEU of flowers: Memorials in Rodger's name are being designated; to a Trust Fund for Tyler and Taylor @ F.&M. Bank in Newton.

Rodger Dale Danley, 53, the son of William Albert and Shirley Louise (Simpson) Danley, was born September 29, 1955 in Newton, Iowa. He was a graduate of the Newton Senior High, Class of 1973. Rodger was employed by Parsons and as a machinist by Winpower in Newton, Fisher Controls and Midwest, retiring in 2002 from Vermeer Manufacturing in Pella.

On September 22, 1984, Rodger was united in marriage with Laura L. Jones in Newton. He devoted his life to his wife, family and friends, and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Newton and Royal Rangers. Rodger owned and operated J&R BBQ, which was his lifelong dream. He enjoyed football, watching his boys in sports, his grandkids and cooking & BBQing.

Rodger passed away Saturday morning, July 25, 2009 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his father William; older brother Jackie Danley; his Grandpa Simpson and Grandma & Grandpa Danley.

Those left to honor Rodger's memory include his loving wife Laura; his three sons: Jeremy (Karen) Danley of Chicago, Illinois, Tyler Danley (age 13) and Taylor Danley (age 7.5); his daughters: Chanda (Pedro) Lopez of Leon, Spain and Crystal (Horacio) Andrade of Omaha, Nebraska; his eight grandchildren; his mother Shirley of Newton; his three brothers: John Danley, Russ (Ann) Danley and Tom Danley, all of Newton; and his many good friends.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from Visitation will be from 5:00-7:30pm at Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home, 310 N. 2nd Ave. E., Newton, IA. The funeral will be Wednesday at 10:00 at First Assembly of God Church, in Newton.

Obituary of Crystal Danley

Crystal Dawn Danley (Andrade), 33, died Sunday, Nov. 17, at her home in Newton.

A service will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25, at the Howard Street Christian Church in Colfax. Her family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. that evening at the church. A private family burial will be held later. A trust fund is being established for her five children. Memorials may be left at the church that evening or sent on their behalf to their uncle, Jeremy Danley, 1223 Northwestern, Ames, IA 50010. The daughter of Debi (Roll) Patrick and Rodger Danley, Crystal was born Feb. 14, 1980. She grew up and attended school in Colfax. Crystal was a stay-at-home mom. She was an avid reader of fiction and non-fiction, loved crafts and caring for animals and was very involved with her children’s activities. She will be remembered for her big heart.

Those left to honor Crystal’s life are her five children:, Devon, 15, and Brandon, 14, and their father, Alcides Gonzalez of Des Moines; Mariksa Danley, 12, of Pleasant Hill; Diego, 10, and Anthony, 8, who lived with Crystal; their father, Horacio Andrade of Omaha; her mother, Debi Patrick of Pleasant Hill; her brother, Jeremy Danley (Karen); nephews Caius and Quinlan of Ames; her sister, Chanda Danley (Pedro Lopez); nieces Eva, Adriana and Alejandra of Leon, Spain. She also had two brothers, Tyler and Taylor Danley from her father’s second marriage.
