Iowa County Cemetery Stones and History 1844-1975 (manuscript) by Pauline Lillie

                    German Immanuel Methodist Episcopal
                             Cemetery - History
                                         by Pauline Lillie

Location
Section 7, Lincoln 79 Township, Range 12, Located 5 miles south and
one mile east of Victor, on Hy. V. 38; Cemetery on west side of road.

History
There is no mention in the 1881 History ; Atlas of 1874 p. 39 does
not give cemetery, land then owned by O.T. Griswold; No church eith-
er, but a school house above ½ mile; Atlas 1900 page 17 gives cem-
etery on the W.E. Brandt land, but about ½ mile north on the east side
of the road in Section 8, in the that location an M.E. Church, with the
schoolhouse across the road north; Page 21 Atlas 1915 again lists this
on the W.E. Brandt farm, and the 1915 History Vol. 1, p. 219 lists
in this township of Lincoln four cemeteries, that of St. Johns- German
Methodist Episcopal- Schmidts and the Longstreths.

Some dates written on the stones, for the German in point of time,
and are given as such.

Condition
Best of all condition; No trash of flowers up against the stones, clean
and neat. Well maintained. Very easy to copy, with stones, in perfect
condition. Several landscaped trees, adds to its attractiveness.

Remarks
None ;

Researched by Pauline Lillie
