WAYNE TOWNSHIP 1870

Town 73 North Range 6 West

Historical and Statistical.

Wayne Township is almost entirely prairie and was not settled quite so soon as some of the other Townships, but amongst the first that came there to settle were B. Zichfoos, W. H. and W. S. Zichfoos, Sylvester Smith, J. Warcham, J. Woodworth, Wm. Morford, S. Larkins, W. Crill, and P. Young, there were many others that came settled on the prairie.  There is now quite a number of Swedish families, in this Township, and they have erected a Swedish church.  The land is now nearly all under fence and cultivation, and is as productive as any in the county.
