TRENTON TOWNSHIP 1870

Town 72 Range 7 West

Historical and Statistical.

Trenton Township has the following names amongst those of its early pioneers, James C. Green, James McPheron, J. H. McPheron, D. Masher, George Miller, Joseph Jacob, and Perny Morrison, J. Allender, and family, B. B. Allender, Absolem Leiper, and many others.  This being one of the Townships that has plenty of timber, and plenty of water, it was early sought after by the actual settler, and the Township now shows many good farms well improved;  good orchards, filled with good thrifty old trees, many of them thirty years old.

The village of Trenton is situated near the north-east corner, and is on the stage rout from Mount Pleasant to Washington, giving it good mail facilities.
