MARION TOWNSHIP 1870

72 North Range. 6 West.

Historical and Statistical.

Marion Township was first settled by George Dutton, in 1835, on Section 22, where he has lived until the present time.  This Township being one of the finest in the County, for agricultural purposes, it has been settled up very rapidly, and by a class of people who expect to make this their permanent homes.

It is well adapted to the raising of fruits and has very many fine orchards.  There is considerable timber in the southwest part of the Township, and, aside from the timber, there is no land in the Township but what is subject to a high state of cultivation.
