In accordance with the provisions of section 176 of the code of Iowa of 1897, I hereby certify that this volume of the Iowa Official Register contains a true and correct tabulated statement of the population of the counties, and also of the cities and towns of Iowa, having 500 inhabitants and over, as shown by the last state census.

In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand this first day of February, 1900.

Transcriber’s Note:

Grundy County was created 15 January 1851 from the Unorganized Territory. The Third Constitutional Convention was convened at Iowa City, January 10 1857, and Adjourned March 5, 1857. This is the first convention in which Grundy County appears.
